Just a few of my favourite places and hangouts…
Sunset cocktails: Franco’s Bar Sleek and uber stylish it is oh so Positano with blue and yellow tiles and cushions. Mixologist influenced cocktails and what a view!
Iced coffee: La Zagara Sitting on the terrace with a refreshing iced coffee which is more like granita is a perfect afternoon alternative to prosecco.
Limoncellio Spritz (aka “Amalfi Spritz): Blu Bar On the beach, this place is great for an easy drink of any kind but they do a punchy limoncello spritz.
Spaghetti Nerano: Chez Black For that classic local dish of pasta with zucchini, this popular beach front restaurant has one of the best.
Sandals: Don Catello With so many sandal shops along the Amalfi Coast it is easy to get overwhelmed. But this family run sandal shop has been making some of the best handmade sandals for three generations. The shoes even have slip proof finish on the soles to make them easier to walk in.
Scent: Emporio Sirenuse This boutique is mainly a clothes shop but they also sell the fresh smell of Positano Eau d’Italie. I especially love the bath salts.
Unique home design and gifts: Casa y Bottega Just up the road from the downtown Positano is this delightful boutique and cafe. Stop in for a light bite, a smoothie, and… a bit of shopping. The goods on offer are one of a kind handmade items from the area that include espresso cups with whimsical handles, table linens, and fanciful table pieces. While it is not a huge selection it is a very good selection, not to mention different from other items in town. I just love this little place!
