Love Actually – Holiday feel good movie with Christmastime London as its backdrop with a large cast of likable British actors taking you around this tour. South Bank, Wandsworth and of course Notting Hill are a few of the bits of London highlighted here, all dressed up for Christmas. What’s not to love.
Love and Other Disasters – This quirky lesser known RomCom takes place in London’s uber hip Camden and East London areas. Light, fun, and stylish. A close group of young professionals having hungover brunches in Clerkenwell and going to art exhibits in Shoreditch. Trying to figure out their lives in love and work while helping each other along, make for friends drinking too much together while looking good doing it.
Match Point Poshest London from Chelsea to Notting Hill are part of the fashionable and beautiful characters in this high society film of jealousy, murder and greed. Dinner at Locanda Locatelli, afternoons at the Tate Modern, nights out at the Royal Opera, not to mention tennis lessons at the Queen’s Club all partake in the film.
Sliding Doors Gwyneth Paltrow does a convincing job as a trendy Londoner in this late ’90s film. A parallel universe of two stories of what would happen to GP’s character had she caught the train home to what happened when she missed it. With filming locations along Putney, Fulham and Albert Bridge in Chelsea, it perfectly captures the feeling of 20 something Londoners at the time. And GP’s wardrobe, especially the black leather blazer, is iconic.
