Evening in Montparnasse

The timeless Parisian vibe at Le Select in Montparnasse…

5 Favourite Places on the Left Bank

Head to the iconic Left Bank for a true taste of Paris…

Cafe de Flore – This historical grand dame cafe captures all that there is to like in cafe life. Offering a true taste of Paris I try to stop by at least once a day to partake in a slice of everyday life.

Musee de Cluny – On the Left Bank just off Boulevard St. Germain is a gem of a museum. Dedicated to medieval art, the lush red tapestries of the Girl with the Unicorn are not only stunning but rare in their colour and subject matter. While most people come to see these unique works or art, it is worth exploring the rest of this small museum as well.

Le Bon Marche – Yes le Grand Magasins, or department stores are on the Right Bank but I prefer the boutique feel of this compact department store so much more. Elegant and incredibly stylish. I especially love their expanded housewares department but their ground floor accessory department is a must.

La CoupoleIn bustling Montparnasse this traditional brasserie has a lively atmosphere and playful art deco decor. The menu serves all the classic favourites one would expect and don’t pass on the crepes flambe a sort of crepes Suzette which are hard to find anywhere these days and they do well here. Before dinner have drinks across the street at Le Select another local favourite cafe to get the full Montparnasse experience.

Place de Furstenberg A short walk from Place Saint Germain is this sweet little square. Seen in many a movie that is because it encapsulates in one frame the old world feel of Paris.
